the eggs

I forgot to mention our Pysansky eggs project we did 2 weeks ago. Maybe because mine turned out terribly, but my sisters' were great. Here is the the final result. The process included egg dye, wax & stylus and more dye and more wax created most of the eggs in the pictures. (The bubbly/speckled look of some of the color on the eggs was not a planned part of the Pysansky method just our cheap eggs dye or weird hard boiled eggs.) A few of them were water colored by Riley (and uncle Nate).
These eggs were blown out and put on sticks to make it easy for a toddler to decorate with watercolors. Not the most springy colors, but she did it all by herself.
This is the first time I've ever let her paint at home and she did great and had a blast. Well, I guess it is all over her face and some on her shirt--but it all washed off.

I'm so happy to have my sisters living nearby and they brave rush hour traffic to come visit once a week and we always have a great time catching up and playing with the girls. They always come up with cool things to do like Pysansky eggs or block printing. They are amazing!

You are lucky to have your sisters living close by, I'm jealous. :)
