We embarked on our very first family trip. Now don't get me wrong, this is not our first great vacation, we have just always been lucky to be invited along to some pretty fabulous places with our families. This is the first family (kids included) trip that we (Michael and I) have planned and embarked on our own. A little daunting, but totally worth it. We were gifted some time share points and decided to find a place in the northeast near Mike's brother, Steven, who is attending Dartmouth Med School--you know, those med students hardly get any time off so we decided to combine our vacation with some time with Steven and Meredith. We love our family!

So we took a red eye from Seattle to Boston. The girls were so excited to be flying on a plane it took a little bit for them to fall asleep on the plane, despite it being 11:30pm. Oh well, they got there eventually. We arrived early Sunday and made it up to West Lebanon in time to go to church with Steven and Meredith and then to their house for a nap, followed by a great dinner and then to their friends to view the Quechee Balloon Festival from their home.
We saw a ton of balloons from afar off, unfortunately our camera had a little trouble capturing the hot air balloons.
We headed off to our resort late that night and got lucky to spot 3 moose (1 mama, 2 babies) along the way. We were staying at a resort in Lincoln, NH. Which is near Loon Mountain, in the White Mountains, along the Kancamugus Scenic Highway. It was beautiful up there.

Monday we slept in! and later were able to go canoeing with Steven and Meredith

Tuesday we went to the coast and saw portsmouth briefly. It's a very historic town, but all that history and learning would be completely lost our little ones,

so we moved onto the beach
Lucy loved the sand, but the water was a little cold for her, but for her first time at the ocean, she did great.

Wednesday we hit Story Land.

It was 1.5 hours from Lebanon, but
